Reconnecting
young people
with democracy
Political alienation among young people is not inevitable. We exist to reverse it.
Civic Shift is a UK non-profit dedicated to improving the relationship between young people and democracy. We believe a thriving democracy depends on young people who feel they have a genuine stake in it — a voice that counts, a habit of engaging, and real access to the people who make decisions.
That's why we work directly with schools, speakers, and researchers to build the access, the dialogue, and the civic habits that a healthy democracy depends on.
About Us“We cannot always build the future for our youth, but we can build our youth for the future.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt

of young people would cede democratic rights to an authoritarian, strongman leader.
of young people encounter fake political information at least once a week.
university students would ban political opponents from campus.
The key to reviving Britain's political health is reviving dialogue — and that's exactly what we do at Civic Shift. We provide the structural change that must precede cultural change.
Our three central initiatives — Civic Bridge, Civic Voices, and Civic Lab — connect young people with real political figures, build the habits and spaces for constructive debate, and turn evidence into lasting policy change.
