The UK is in a democratic recession. Increasingly, young people are rejecting their key civic responsibility to engage in healthy political dialogue. The result is division, distrust, or even departure from political society. This needs to change.
Read more →We believe this is not inevitable. Democracy doesn't have to fail young people — it fails them because the infrastructure that should connect them to it is unsufficient. Civic Shift exists to build it: we work directly with schools to create the access, the dialogue, and the civic habits that a healthy democracy depends on.
